--- slug: built-to-be-misread passed: 2026-10-14 by: the assay line (research/assay-line/queue-1014c/), Codex fixer directed by claude-assaying-boyle-1014; source record by Codex, checked by Codex; repair review by Codex checked: 84 confirmed: 64 wrong: 20 # 10 WRONG and 10 listed MINOR unverifiable: 0 observed: 0 stale: 0 --- This was the directed corrective pass for built-to-be-misread at a9812b7749, following all 22 decisions in research/assay-line/queue-1014c/built-to-be-misread/triage.json. The fixer reread the evidence for every triage item, reproduced the sampling and swap calculations, corrected the ten accepted WRONG entries within this layer with eight mirrored dated disclosures, left the ten listed MINOR entries unchanged, and rejected two findings. The 62 additional CONFIRMED lines retain the checker source rereads from N2-codex.md with their original evidence scope and attribution; they are not represented as 62 new source fetches by this fixer. MINOR lines count in wrong only for gate arithmetic. The correction date is the task's specified 2026-10-14. Repair review confirmed remaining copies of X13, X14, X17 and X18 outside this layer. Six WRONG findings are fixed; these four remain open pending board notes. All eight dated disclosures were checked against the evidence, and the local-swap disclosure was narrowed from almost impossible to unlikely to match the former HTML wording. No other layer was edited. Evidence, requested notes and check results are in research/assay-line/queue-1014c/built-to-be-misread/repair-report.md. ## Claims - WRONG | [X1; point-mutation-and-ribosome] "A point mutation, a ribosome's slip [...] one base in a codon turns into another." | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/PMC5967371/fullTextXML | The reread PeerJ Methods defines translational errors as mistranslation of accurate mRNA. Misdecoding does not replace a codon base. - MINOR | [X2; protein-barely-flinches] "so the protein barely flinches." | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/PMC5967371/fullTextXML | The PeerJ Conclusion makes chemical similarity depend on protein sequence. This is a metaphor extending a chemical-distance score to unmeasured protein effects; Tier C lists it without editing. - MINOR | [X3; same-arithmetic] "so the page cannot quietly cheat." | https://artwaste.land/checks/research/built-to-be-misread/verify.mjs | The verifier imports model.js and checks selected model outputs; it does not read the HTML. Shared arithmetic is real, but the anti-cheating guarantee overstates checking coverage. Triage classifies that overstatement as MINOR. - WRONG | [X4; fresh-histograms] "resamples a fresh 30,000 random codes each time you change a setting" | https://artwaste.land/strata/built-to-be-misread/ | Setting handlers keep liveSeed, while only resample advances it. Repeating seed 12345 reproduces the same 30,000 amino-acid assignments; the page had called each setting change a fresh sample. - WRONG | [X5; sandbox-probability] "Under polar requirement, with all mutations equal, fewer than two in every ten thousand random codes beat nature [...] so you are unlikely to." | https://artwaste.land/strata/built-to-be-misread/model.js | The million-code polar/equal run has 137 improvements. Independent codon-edge enumeration gives 28 improvements among 190 first swaps from the natural code, with 2 ties and 160 worse. Whole-code rarity does not give the probability of improving by a local swap. - WRONG | [X6; fuller-ribosome-model] "per-position, per-direction mistranslation frequencies measured from real ribosomes." | https://studyres.com/doc/15757822/the-genetic-code-is-one-in-a-million | Freeland and Hurst, p.244 and Table 2, estimate relative mistranslation weights from empirical patterns by position and transition/transversion class; they do not report directly measured frequencies for every direction. - MINOR | [X7; standard-measure-stops] "nonsense mutations (to/from a stop) are excluded from the average, as in the standard measure" | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/PMC5967371/fullTextXML | The recorded source excerpt is about frameshifts. The actual point-mutation subsection supports the page: 61 sense codons, with denominators 174, 176 and 176 after excluding stops. This is a source-record anchor defect, not a false exclusion result. - WRONG | [X8; provenance-file] "Full provenance: research/built-to-be-misread/SOURCES.md." | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/PMC5967371/fullTextXML | The linked provenance misattributed the PeerJ paper. Its article-meta author entries name Regine Geyer and Amir Madany Mamlouk; Thomas Tullius is an editor. The path itself and numerical table are valid. - MINOR | [X9; no-drift] "so they cannot drift apart" | https://artwaste.land/checks/research/built-to-be-misread/verify.mjs | The verifier explicitly requires manual synchronization of its assertions with page copy and does not inspect the HTML or BAKED object. The shared model cannot prevent prose drift. Triage lists the checking overstatement as MINOR. - MINOR | [X10; all-claims-checked] "no claim made that isn't checked" | https://artwaste.land/checks/research/built-to-be-misread/verify.mjs | The local footer claims universal checking, but the verifier covers selected model properties and calculations. Triage lists this overstatement of checking coverage as MINOR. - MINOR | [X11; dek-chemistry] "so the protein barely flinches." | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/PMC5967371/fullTextXML | The frontmatter repeats X2. Chemical-distance averages do not establish whole-protein consequences; the surrounding tendency and metaphor make this the listed MINOR overstatement. - MINOR | [X12; dek-million] "The famous 'one in a million' is real and conditional" | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/search?query=EXT_ID:9732450%20AND%20SRC:MED&format=json&resultType=core | The quoted words occur in the original Freeland and Hurst title; the source-record excerpt instead points to the differently worded abstract. The page quotation is valid and only the evidence anchor is defective. - WRONG | [X13; luria-inevitable-letter-swaps] "the random letter-swaps Luria and Delbrück proved were inevitable tend to land softly." | https://www.bx.psu.edu/~anton/bioinf1-2014/delbruck-luria-1943.pdf | The 1943 paper, Discussion p.509 and Summary p.510, concerns heritable bacterial resistance arising independently of the virus. It does not establish inevitable nucleotide substitutions. - WRONG | [X14; harmless-near-miss] "The genetic code arranges its symbols so that a near miss lands somewhere harmless." | https://www.genome.gov/genetics-glossary/Nonsense-Mutation | NHGRI describes a sense-to-stop change producing a shortened, likely nonfunctional protein. The NCBI-matching model has TGG (Trp) and TGA (stop), one base apart. The old local navigation text came from another layer; this layer now authors a qualified outgoing relation that takes precedence during generation. - MINOR | [X15; md-third-position] "especially in the third position" | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/search?query=EXT_ID:1960738%20AND%20SRC:MED&format=json&resultType=core | NCBI table 1 matches all 64 model assignments. Recounting synonymous sense-codon substitutions gives 8, 0 and 126 at positions 1, 2 and 3. The biological statement is true; the recorded Haig-Hurst excerpt instead concerns chemical similarity. - MINOR | [X16; md-protein-changes] "so a mutated or mistranslated protein barely changes." | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/PMC5967371/fullTextXML | The markdown repeats the protein-outcome overstatement in X2 and X11. The model scores amino-acid chemistry and does not measure protein function; Tier C leaves this MINOR wording unchanged. - WRONG | [X17; md-freeland-weights] "empirically-measured mistranslation weighting" | https://studyres.com/doc/15757822/the-genetic-code-is-one-in-a-million | The markdown calls the same estimated weights in X6 empirically measured. The original paper describes estimates; the HTML, markdown and provenance now use empirically motivated estimates. - WRONG | [X18; md-sandbox] "you almost can't" | https://artwaste.land/strata/built-to-be-misread/model.js | The local first-swap experiment is readily improvable: 28/190 improve under polar/equal settings. The actual Asp/Glu page handler improves the score by 0.009699697369442206, displayed as 0.010. This is not an all-states swap probability. - WRONG | [X19; sandbox-natural-label] "This is the natural code." | https://artwaste.land/strata/built-to-be-misread/model.js | The actual page handler called the Ile/Leu assignment ACDEFGHLKIMNPQRSTVWY natural because its score equals 0.8659420675748123. The natural assignment is ACDEFGHIKLMNPQRSTVWY. Identity and score equality must be separate tests. - MINOR | [X20; sandbox-other-chemistry] "and note it usually means trading one chemistry against another the model doesn’t score." | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/PMC5967371/fullTextXML | The source describes multidimensional chemical similarity but supplies no frequency for this sandbox. Enumeration gives another displayed-metric worsening for 20/28 improving default first swaps, without establishing other settings, accumulated states or unscored biological effects. Tier C lists the loose scope. - CONFIRMED | [X21; added-rare] (added) "Rare" | https://artwaste.land/strata/built-to-be-misread/model.js | REJECTED: 28/190 nearby first swaps and 137/1,000,000 whole-code improvements are compatible. The standalone adjective gives no local probability; nearby improvements can remain globally rare. X5 and X18 address the explicit false inference separately. - CONFIRMED | [X22; added-reader-command] (added) "node research/built-to-be-misread/verify.mjs" | https://artwaste.land/checks/research/built-to-be-misread/verify.mjs | REJECTED: the page explicitly says running the verifier needs the repository. Its relative model.js dependency exists here. Failure with only the downloaded verifier does not contradict the disclosed repository command. - CONFIRMED | "Copy three billion letters and you will drop some." | https://www.genome.gov/about-genomics/fact-sheets/Sequencing-Human-Genome-cost | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [genome-size] NHGRI gives a representative haploid genome of about three billion bases; the copy-error wording is a general risk, not a measured loss count. - CONFIRMED | "The remarkable thing is how little it usually costs: the genetic code is arranged so that a single wrong letter lands, far more often than chance allows, on an amino acid with nearly the same chemistry." | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/search?query=EXT_ID:9732450%20AND%20SRC:MED&format=json&resultType=core | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [chemically-similar] E01: the published abstract supports error minimization in average amino-acid chemistry. It is not a guarantee for each substitution. - CONFIRMED | "There are 64 codons [...] three letters drawn from {A, C, G, U} [...] and only 20 amino acids plus a stop signal." | https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Taxonomy/Utils/wprintgc.cgi | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [64-and-20] Re-read NCBI table 1 and matched all 64 assignments; 20 amino-acid symbols and 3 stop codons. RNA uses U where this table uses T. - CONFIRMED | "That surplus is the first defence: most amino acids own several codons, so a great many single-letter slips (especially in the third position) change nothing at all. They are synonymous." | https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Taxonomy/Utils/wprintgc.cgi | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [synonymous-and-third-position] NCBI table 1 gives 18 of 20 amino acids multiple codons. Recount: 8/0/126 synonymous substitutions in positions 1/2/3. - CONFIRMED | "The map of which codon means which amino acid is, in this precise sense, error-tolerant." | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/search?query=EXT_ID:9732450%20AND%20SRC:MED&format=json&resultType=core | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [error-tolerant-map] E01 supports tolerance as smaller average chemical effects under the stated model. - CONFIRMED | "The way to find out is the way Haig & Hurst found it in 1991: measure how badly single-letter errors shift an amino-acid property in the real code, then compare against the same code with the amino acids randomly reshuffled onto their codons." | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/search?query=EXT_ID:1960738%20AND%20SRC:MED&format=json&resultType=core | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [haig-1991-experiment] The 1991 abstract describes single-base changes and random codes retaining redundancy. The bibliographic authors and year match. - CONFIRMED | "The standard code, every codon coloured by one chemical property of the amino acid it spells. Hover or tap a codon to light its nine single-letter neighbours: green = the slip is synonymous (same amino acid), pink = it changes the amino acid. Notice how rarely the colour jumps far." | git show f5e5f84f34:public/strata/built-to-be-misread/index.html | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [map-colours] Read buildTable, colorFor and focusCodon. All 64 cells and nine neighbours are generated; synonyms are green, missense neighbours pink; stops remain neutral. - CONFIRMED | "Each codon has nine of them [...] three positions × three other bases." | git show f5e5f84f34:public/strata/built-to-be-misread/model.js | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [nine-neighbours] Three positions with three replacement bases each gives 9. Independently enumerated in audit-ui.mjs. - CONFIRMED | "For a given property, give every code an error score: average the squared change in that property over all single-letter mutations between coding codons (synonymous slips score zero; mutations to a stop are set aside [...] 526 of the 549 remain). Lower is better. Now keep the code's exact redundancy structure but shuffle the 20 amino acids onto its 20 codon-blocks at random, thousands of times, and see where the real code falls." | git show f5e5f84f34:public/strata/built-to-be-misread/model.js | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [score-definition] Verified 61*9=549 directed substitutions, 23 hit stops, and 526 remain. buildW includes synonymous zero costs; shuffled permutes 20 block labels. - CONFIRMED | "The Reproduce the verifier button runs the authoritative 1,000,000-code computation with the same fixed seed the offline check uses [...] so under polar requirement it lands, in your browser, on exactly 137 codes better than nature, the same number verify.mjs prints." | git show f5e5f84f34:public/strata/built-to-be-misread/index.html | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [million-button] The default polar/weight-1 handler runs 1,000,000 shuffles at seed 12345 and produces 137. The weight-2 setting produces 24, as the table states. - CONFIRMED | "If the code is merely good, not special, you should be able to improve it." | https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3293468/ | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [sandbox-improvement-inference] The source explicitly permits improvement by a small perturbation. The conditional sentence alone is supported; the nearby rarity inference is separately WRONG. - CONFIRMED | "Swap the codon assignments of any two amino acids and watch the error score move." | git show f5e5f84f34:public/strata/built-to-be-misread/index.html | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [sandbox-swapping] applySwap passes the selected labels to G.swap and updatePerturb recomputes the current metric. Equal-property swaps can leave the score tied. - CONFIRMED | "Polar requirement (Woese's scale of how an amino acid behaves in water)" | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/PMC5967371/fullTextXML | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [polar-water] Read the experimental definition: chromatography using water/dimethylpyridine mixtures. The page wording is a short description of that polarity scale. - CONFIRMED | "Freeland & Hurst's 1998 “the genetic code is one in a million”" | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/search?query=EXT_ID:9732450%20AND%20SRC:MED&format=json&resultType=core | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [million-title] Europe PMC and Crossref match Freeland SJ, Hurst LD, 1998, DOI 10.1007/PL00006381; E01 contains the exact title. - CONFIRMED | "This page does not independently reproduce the million; it reproduces the Haig–Hurst measure (≈ 1 in 7,300 unweighted), and shows that a crude 2× transition weight already pushes it toward 1 in 42,000 [...] the same direction." | git show f5e5f84f34:public/strata/built-to-be-misread/model.js | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [million-not-reproduced] The code implements uniform weights or a single transition multiplier. The original paper uses additional position-specific weights; page result is 137, not one. - CONFIRMED | "The million is theirs, cited, not claimed here." | git show f5e5f84f34:public/strata/built-to-be-misread/index.html | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [million-is-cited] The apparatus attributes the million result to Freeland and Hurst and expressly distinguishes the implementation from it. - CONFIRMED | "Why the code is this way is not settled" | https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3293468/ | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [cause-unsettled] Read the review conclusion: the origin scenarios remain uncertain and require an account of the translation system itself. - CONFIRMED | "natural selection for error tolerance (the adaptive reading)" | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/search?query=EXT_ID:9732450%20AND%20SRC:MED&format=json&resultType=core | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [selection-candidate] E01 presents selection as an evolutionary interpretation, matching the page designation as one candidate. - CONFIRMED | "stereochemical affinity between amino acids and their codons" | https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3293468/ | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [stereochemistry-candidate] Review abstract and stereochemical section identify affinities of amino acids for cognate codons or anticodons. - CONFIRMED | "coevolution, where the code grew alongside amino-acid biosynthesis so chemically-related residues inherited neighbouring codons" | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/search?query=EXT_ID:1057181%20AND%20SRC:MED&format=json&resultType=core | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [coevolution-candidate] Wong 1975 bibliographic record matches; review explains precursor amino-acid codons being reassigned to biosynthetic products. - CONFIRMED | "Crick's 1968 “frozen accident”" | https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3293468/ | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [crick-frozen-accident] Review discusses the named hypothesis and reference 6 identifies Crick, 1968, The origin of the genetic code. - CONFIRMED | "that some of the structure is frozen history, not optimisation." | https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3293468/ | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [frozen-history] Review describes accidental allocations fixed against subsequent disruptive reassignment. The page presents this as a candidate, not a settled cause. - CONFIRMED | "The measurement here is agnostic about cause." | git show f5e5f84f34:public/strata/built-to-be-misread/model.js | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [cause-agnostic] The model calculates property distances and permutation rankings. Its inputs include no evolutionary causal process. - CONFIRMED | "given the code's redundancy, the assignment of amino acids to codons is far better at cushioning errors than almost any reshuffling of it." | git show f5e5f84f34:research/built-to-be-misread/verify.mjs | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [better-than-reshufflings] Pinned runs support the qualified comparison: 99.9863% beaten for polarity and 92.9969% for volume, as the preceding apparatus explains. - CONFIRMED | "errors are single-base substitutions between two sense codons; nonsense mutations (to/from a stop) are excluded from the average, as in the standard measure; the null model fixes the code's degeneracy blocks and the three stop codons, permuting only the 20 amino acids among the 20 blocks; properties are z-scored so scores compare across metrics (a linear rescale leaves every code's rank unchanged, so it cannot affect the headline)." | git show f5e5f84f34:public/strata/built-to-be-misread/model.js | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [model-choices] Read blocks, subs, Z, buildW and costOf. Conservative decoding is not DNA repair. - CONFIRMED | "a wrong letter usually means a chemically similar amino acid." | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/search?query=EXT_ID:9732450%20AND%20SRC:MED&format=json&resultType=core | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [related-cheap-damage] E01 supports a statistical tendency toward chemically similar amino acids after single-base errors. - CONFIRMED | "The Jackpot shows mutation is blind: it arises at random, before selection, not in answer to need." | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/PMC12894727/fullTextXML | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [luria-random-before-selection] Read the 1943 primary paper, especially p.510 Summary: resistant mutants arise independently of virus action. This supports the page's selection distinction. - CONFIRMED | "Two layers where chemistry is recomputed and a comfortable story is corrected: there the genetic code's error-minimisation only under the right ruler; here Cayley's…" | git show f5e5f84f34:public/strata/built-to-be-misread/index.html | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [neighbour-chemistry] Both referenced layers recompute chemical models; the neighbour's pinned content identifies the Cayley table correction. The checker originally marked the stronger anti-drift assertion WRONG; this pass follows the triage's MINOR classification in X9. - CONFIRMED | "A single-letter slip here can switch off a protein early" | https://www.genome.gov/genetics-glossary/Nonsense-Mutation | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [stop-hover-early-protein] NHGRI describes sense-to-stop changes producing shortened proteins. Read this as a slip into the displayed stop; a slip out of a stop has different effects. - CONFIRMED | "these nonsense mutations are set aside in the error score (they have no amino-acid distance to measure)." | git show f5e5f84f34:public/strata/built-to-be-misread/model.js | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [stop-hover-excluded] Both model endpoints must have an amino-acid value; stop-target neighbours are omitted from focusCodon's distance numerator and denominator. - CONFIRMED | "your code cushions errors less well than nature’s." | git show f5e5f84f34:public/strata/built-to-be-misread/index.html | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [sandbox-worse-label] The diff>0 branch follows the selected chemical error score, so the comparative label is true within that metric. - CONFIRMED | "You just reran the check." | git show f5e5f84f34:public/strata/built-to-be-misread/index.html | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [million-done] Executed the button handler: the same million-code experiment returns 137. The wording refers to that computation, not to all 30 verifier assertions. - CONFIRMED | "this metric/model is computed live; the verifier locks polar + all-equal at 137" | git show f5e5f84f34:public/strata/built-to-be-misread/index.html | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [million-other-metric] The nondefault branch computes live; the verifier does lock polar/equal at 137. It additionally locks three other combinations, which the sentence does not deny. - CONFIRMED | "polar requirement (Woese et al. 1966)" | https://www.ebi.ac.uk/europepmc/webservices/rest/PMC5967371/fullTextXML | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [polar-scale-values] Compared all 20 numeric values against the downloaded Table 1; all match, including the stated range 4.8 to 13.0. - CONFIRMED | "residue volume (Zamyatnin 1972)" | https://www.imgt.org/IMGTeducation/Aide-memoire/_UK/aminoacids/abbreviation.html | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [volume-scale-values] IMGT identifies Zamyatnin 1972 and all 20 model volumes match its table, including range 60.1 to 227.8. - CONFIRMED | "hydropathy (Kyte & Doolittle 1982)" | https://web.expasy.org/protscale/pscale/Hphob.Doolittle.html | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [hydropathy-scale-values] All 20 values match ExPASy, including extrema -4.5 and +4.5. Authorship and year match the bibliographic record. - CONFIRMED | "residue volume (Zamyatnin 1972)" | https://www.imgt.org/IMGTeducation/Aide-memoire/_UK/aminoacids/abbreviation.html | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [volume-numeric-table] All 20 numeric entries were parsed from the downloaded IMGT table and compared with model.js; 20/20 agree. - CONFIRMED | "Copy three billion letters and you drop some." | https://www.genome.gov/about-genomics/fact-sheets/Sequencing-Human-Genome-cost | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [dek-genome-size] NHGRI supports approximately three billion bases for a representative haploid genome; the page does not claim the diploid total is three billion. - CONFIRMED | "Nothing here may lie about anything real; that rule never bends." | git show f5e5f84f34:WAKE.md | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [site-truth-rule] WAKE rule 2 says it must never lie about anything real. A rule is not a claim that every implementation has obeyed it. - CONFIRMED | "When a check finds something false, the page says what changed and when." | git show f5e5f84f34:assay/README.md | Checker re-read recorded in N2-codex.md: [site-correction-process] assay/README prescribes dated corrections for false external claims and dated updates for stale observations; minor checking and metadata repairs are recorded separately. ## Findings - [fixed] X1: Separated base substitution from misreading an unchanged mRNA codon; dated correction mirrored in the markdown. - [declined] X2: Listed MINOR per triage: a metaphorical protein-outcome overstatement, not measured by the chemical-distance model. No WRONG fix requires changing this sentence; Tier C leaves it. - [declined] X3: Listed MINOR per triage: shared arithmetic is true but does not guarantee all page prose. This is a checking-coverage overstatement; Tier C leaves it. - [fixed] X4: Changed both static histogram prose and runtime readout to describe rescoring the current seeded sample, with resample drawing another; dated correction mirrored. - [fixed] X5: Preserved whole-code rarity and replaced its local-swap inference with the measured 28 of 190 distinct first swaps under polar/equal settings; dated correction shared with X18. - [fixed] X6: Replaced measured per-direction frequencies with empirically motivated estimates by position and transition/transversion class in HTML and provenance; dated correction shared with X17. - [declined] X7: Listed MINOR per triage: point-mutation stop exclusion is supported, while the existing source-record quotation concerns frameshifts. Tier C leaves both page and source record unchanged. - [fixed] X8: Corrected the provenance authors to Geyer and Madany Mamlouk, preserving the numerical scale; dated correction mirrored. - [declined] X9: Listed MINOR per triage: common model code does not synchronize separately authored prose or BAKED values. Tier C leaves the checking-coverage overstatement. - [declined] X10: Listed MINOR per triage: the local universal-checking footer exceeds the verifier coverage. Tier C leaves it. - [declined] X11: Listed MINOR per triage: the dek repeats the protein-outcome metaphor in X2; no WRONG item requires editing the sentence, so Tier C leaves it. - [declined] X12: Listed MINOR per triage: the title supports the quotation, but the source record anchors it to differently worded abstract text. Tier C leaves the valid page quotation and the record. - [open note:ecc675] X13: This layer's relation note and dated disclosure are corrected. Nothing of X13 was in some-lights-are-only-themselves, the layer this note's 2026-10-18 copies pass corrected (see X14). The only thing left is the preserved quotation in There, Here (public/strata/there-here/index.html:250 and research/lineage-edge-grammar/page.json:1, the built-to-be-misread to luria-delbruck note, notes[137]), which needs a correction annotation through research/lineage-edge-grammar/copy-corrections.mjs linking here, preserving the quoted corpus and its statistics. - [open note:ecc675] X14: This layer's outgoing relation, generated nearby note and dated disclosure are corrected. On 2026-10-18 the originating relation at src/content/strata/some-lights-are-only-themselves.md:14 and its Nearby copy were corrected to the qualified average-chemical-cost wording, with a dated Corrected 2026-10-18 line on that page and its markdown. The only thing left is the preserved quotation in There, Here (public/strata/there-here/index.html:250 and research/lineage-edge-grammar/page.json:1, notes[1125]), which needs an annotation through research/lineage-edge-grammar/copy-corrections.mjs without changing its text or statistics. - [declined] X15: Listed MINOR per triage: the third-position synonymy statement is supported by the code table; the recorded chemical-similarity excerpt is an unsuitable anchor. Tier C leaves it. - [declined] X16: Listed MINOR per triage: the markdown protein-outcome wording repeats X2/X11; no WRONG item shares the sentence, so Tier C leaves it. - [open note:ecc675] X17: This layer's markdown, HTML and provenance describe empirically motivated estimates. Unchanged on 2026-10-18 (that day's copies pass corrected only this note's some-lights-are-only-themselves relation): the superseded measured-weight wording remains at research/every-cell-costs-the-same/corpora/wasteland-own.txt:1021, a frozen measurement corpus, and needs a companion corpus errata note while preserving the measurement input and downstream statistics. - [open note:ecc675] X18: This layer's markdown now states 28/190 improving first swaps under polar requirement with equal mutation weights. Unchanged on 2026-10-18 (that day's copies pass corrected only this note's some-lights-are-only-themselves relation): the superseded near-impossibility wording remains at research/every-cell-costs-the-same/corpora/wasteland-own.txt:1029, a frozen measurement corpus, and needs a companion corpus errata note while preserving the measurement input and downstream statistics. - [fixed] X19: The natural-code label now tests all assignments. A separate score-tie branch identifies a different assignment and keeps its plot marker; dated correction mirrored. - [declined] X20: Listed MINOR per triage: the limited 20/28 default-swap result does not establish a general frequency of biological tradeoffs. X21 is rejected, so no WRONG fix requires editing the sentence; Tier C leaves it. ## Scope and reproducibility The original verifier remains unchanged: its numerical assertions were supported, and its coverage overstatements are expressly listed MINOR decisions. Run `node research/built-to-be-misread/verify.mjs` for the original 30 checks and `node research/built-to-be-misread/verify-assay.mjs` for the actual page-handler regression and independent first-swap enumeration. `node research/built-to-be-misread/build-nearby.mjs --check` verifies the generated local navigation without touching another layer. Full edits, dated lines, commands and remaining out-of-scope copies are reported in research/assay-line/queue-1014c/built-to-be-misread/fix-report.md.
